Fred Falkner started his business adventure in 1984 at a small shop in Lasalle, Ontario. Fred’s small fabrication shop specialized in metal fabrication for the race car industry, where he built many successful cars to race at the local Checker Flag track, as well as across Canada.
In 1985, the business was relocated to Outer Drive in Oldcastle, ON where FCF Custom Fab was born. With Fred’s experience and knowledge, FCF expanded into the design and manufacturing of paint racks and part storage containers for Tier 1 automotive part suppliers.
Advances in technology lead to the purchase of FCF’s first Flow waterjet cutting machine. This machine would soon become a huge success for the company, with it’s ability to cut almost any material up to 8″ thick.
With the growing success of their first waterjet, FCF purchased a second Flow waterjet in addition to constructing a new 12,800 square foot building to house their new cutting department. Now operating from 2 fully owned facilities, the original 8,800 square foot building would be home to prototyping, fabrication, thermal cleaning and repair departments.
Propelled by their willingness to deliver high-quality cuts at more affordable costs, FCF invested in their first laser the Trumpf TruLaser 1030.
The cutting department’s continued success encouraged the purchase of a third Flow waterjet.
